SITUATION VACANT
The Federal Judicial Academy (FJA) is a body corporate fully funded by the Government of Pakistan. FJA seeks to enhance the quality of the Judicial System and catalyzed its development to meet current and emerging expectations and needs of the country and society. FJA is engaged in imparting judicial training and organizes certain courses on different subjects besides conferences/workshops and symposia each year on a variety of current legal and judicial topics for serving Judges, Prosecutors and Court Personnel from across the country. Each program seeks to develop and advance one or more ideas for reforming and strengthening the judicial system.
While faculty positions at the FJA are also well-compensated and command great prestige in the legal community, the real attractiveness of this job lies elsewhere. Being on the faculty of the FJA allows one the singular privilege of having a formative influence on the ideas, ethos and work culture of judges of Pakistan’s District Judiciary, many of whom will also go on to join the Constitutional Courts. The FJA’s nexus with the judiciary also ensures that incumbents would have access to ample resources for conducting cutting-edge research in the field of law and policy in Pakistan; and a moderate teaching load ensures an environment conducive for focusing design and on research leading to publication.
FJA is seeking suitable candidates from all over Pakistan, for faculty appointments. The candidate shall be well qualified, with demonstrated high level of expertise in research and teaching law, hardworking, ethical, committed to the cause of justice, seeking an exciting opportunity for catalyzing institutional development of the judicial system. Minimum qualifications, terms and conditions of employment are as under:-
Rs. 180000/- approx, in aggregate, including all allowances, perks and privileges admissible to the employees of Federal Judicial Academy.
(In case of suitable candidates appointment may be made in BPS-21, with higher remunerations). Age limit: Minimum 35 years. Initial Appointment: Contract for one(01) year (extendable).
“A-Minimum Requirements:
“The applicant must have:
• a bachelors degree in law, such as LLB or JD, preferably a higher degree, from a recognized institution, local or foreign; and 10 years of experience in the field of law. Experience as a lawyer, regulator, judge or law teacher can all be counted toward the fulfillment of this requirement.
B – Preferred Qualification: preference will be given to candidates with:
• degree from institutions which enjoy good academic standing and are internationally reputed as centers of excellence;
• a diverse work experience and wide-ranging intellectual interests;
• a commitment to the field of teaching, established by previous teaching experience or otherwise; and
• a capacity for engaging in research and publication, established by previous publications or otherwise.”

General Information:
a. The applicant should submit an application along with attested latest three photographs and copies of testimonials in respect of educational qualifications, date of birth, experience and extra curricular activities etc.
b. i). Each complete application must be accompanied by 2 writing samples which best
demonstrate the applicant’s writing ability as well as legal reasoning skills; in case the applicant has mentioned previous publications in his or her CV, the same may be presented for review.
ii). Two letters of recommendation from people of high repute and standing in the legal and judicial fraternity; in case the applicant has mentioned previous teaching experience in his or her CV, one of the letters must be from a professor or other officer of the teaching institution where the applicant taught.
c. The incumbents, selected for the interview, have to bear their own travel expenses. No allowance will be paid to the candidate.
d. The Academy reserves its right to reject incomplete applications.

To assist in tackling this, the Government of Pakistan requested support with the preparation of a Post-Crisis Needs Assessment (PCNA) resulting in a peacebuilding strategy for KhyberPakhtunkhwa The goal of the PCNA is to produce a helpful, pragmatic, coherent and sequenced peace building strategy that delivers an agreed vision within 10 years. The vision is the dsillation of inputs from wide-ranging consultations with affected communities in the region and with groups representing various sections of the broader Pakistani civil and public services. These consultations also established the drivers of the crisis that were then translated into fourstrategic objectives that are achieved through a series of concurrent and mutually supporting interventions.
