Country Director – Pakistan
Efficiently leading Pakistan staff, s/he would manage resources and oversee the programs of Ml Pakistan in line with Mi’s mandate, strategic plans and Annual Programs of Work & Budget to ensure that they are aligned effectively with Mi’s and the Government of Pakistan’s (GoP) priorities and that they help to achieve Mi’s strategic objectives both in Pakistan and globally. Key areas of responsibilities include Human Resource Management (providing vision, performance management and mentoring for staff), Strategic Planning (new initiatives aligned with GoP plans and national needs, synergize resources with stakeholders), External Relations (build & strengthen relationship with all government, nongovernment partners and donors; resource expansion), Program Development (up-to-date situation assessment on micronutrients programs in the country, ensure participatory approach to all programs), Program & Financial Management (successful implementation of plans as per approved project concept notes adhering to organizational policies and procedures and maintaining budgets controls).
Qualifications: At minimum, masters degree from a recognized university in one or more of the areas of: nutrition, food sciences, management, international development, public health.
Experience And Person Characteristics: At least 10 years experience at a leadership level in public health, nutrition, management and/or related field, in Pakistan, is essential. Dynamic, well aware of policies and programs of government and donor agencies. Excellent interpersonal communication, problem solving, report writing, presentation and networking skills. Ability to work innovatively, independently and as a team member. The Country Director is the most senior level full time position based in Islamabad and requires 30% time travel, locally & internationally. Fluency in spoken and written English and excellent computer skills are mandatory.
