PROFESSOR (B-21) (TTS)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
a) Ph.D Degree in Botany from an HEC recognized University/Institution.
b) 11 Years Post Ph.D or minimum of 7 Years Post Ph.D Research/Teaching Experience along with at least 12 Years Experience prior to Ph.D. The Experience to be counted is to be of Research/ Teaching in a recognized University or a Postgraduate Institution or Professional Experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization. Research/Teaching Experience in Halophyte Biology is required.
c) At least 15 Research Publications (with at least 5 Publications in the Last Five Years) in Journals recognized for the purpose of appointment of Tenure Track by HEC, i.e. Research Papers published in Journals that fall under category "W" (Impact Factor).
d) The Applicants must have been recommended by at least Two Neutral Foreign Experts of "Technical Review Panel" (TRP to be constituted by the University).
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (B-20)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
a) Ph.D Degree in Botany from an HEC recognized University/Institution.
b) 10 Years Teaching/Research Experience in an HEC recognized University or a Postgraduate Institution or Professional Experience in a National or International Organization. Research/Teaching Experience in the Halophyte Biology required.
c) The Applicants must have 10 Research Publications with at least 3 Publications in the Last Four Years in Internationally Abstracted Journals recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
ASSTT. PROFESSOR (B-19)(TTS)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
a) Ph.D Degree in Botany from an HEC recognized University/Institution.
b) At least 4 Years Research/Teaching Experience prior to Ph.D. The Experience to be counted is to be of Research/Teaching in a recognized University or a Postgraduate Institution or

Professional Experience in the relevant field in a National or International Organization. Research/Teaching Experience in Halophyte is required.
c) Good Publication Record in HEC Recognized/Impact Factor Journals will be preferred.
d) Maximum Age of 40 Years by the Closing Date of Submission of Application.
RESEARCH OFFICER (B-17)
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
a) M.Sc Degree (Minimum 16 Years of Education) in Botany from an HEC recognized University or a Postgraduate Institution. Research Experience in Halophyte is required. No 3rd Division in the Academic Career.
b) At least 3 First Divisions in the entire Academic Career.
d) Maximum Age of 40 Years by the Closing Date of Submission of Application.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
i) Applications are required to be submitted on prescribed Forms: obtainable from the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Establishment, Teaching), 1st. Floor Administration Block. University of Karachi for Teaching Positions. Application Forms for the Post of Research Officer will be obtainable from the Office of Deputy Registrar (General). 2nd Floor. Administration Block University of Karachi on Payment of Rs 350/- through Pay Order in favour of University of Karachi.
ii) Six Copies of Application together with a Pay Order of Rs 600/- in favour of University of Karachi for the Post of Professor, Associate Professor and Four Copies of Application for the Post of Assistant Professor & Research Officer accompanied by the Photocopies of Degrees / Diplomas / Certificates. Experience Certificates and Reprints of Publications, if any, must reach the Registrar, University of Karachi University Road. Karachi-75270 (Pakistan) on or before July 07, 2012. The Last Date for Receipt of Applications in case of Pakistani Nationals serving/residing abroad is July 21 2012. Candidates already in Government. Semi-Government and Autonomous Organizations in Pakistan must apply through Proper Channel.
iii) Candidates requesting Application Forms by Post must send a Pay Order of Rs 400 within Pakistan and Rs 700 or equivalent from Outside Pakistan, drawn in favour of Registrar, University of Karachi Pakistan along with their written request.
iv) Those applying for the Post of Assistant Professor/ Research Officer must enclose Three Attested Passport Size Photographs along with their Applications.
v) The Number of Posts shall be considered according to the available Positions at the time of Selection. The University also reserves the right to cancel any Post advertised above without assigning any reason.
