PAKISTAN WATER AND POWER DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (EOI) FOR SHORT LISTING THE CONSULTANTS TO CARRY OUT FEASIBILITY STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF PUNCTURING OF JARI TUNNEL AND ENLARGING EXISTING TAPINGS I.E. 31.5″ DIA TO 66″ FOR ADDITIONAL WATER ALLOCATION FOR AJK (MIRPUR AND HAMLET)
1. The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPOA) intends to have short listing of Consultants to carry out ‘Feasibility Study on the rnpact of puncturing of Jan Tunnel and enlarging existing taping DIA to 66′da for additional water alocation for AJK (Mirpur and hamlets) The assignment shall be focused on the Scope of Work and Detailed Terms of Reference
2. Mangia Dam Project located on river Jhelum was completed m 1967 with maximum conservation level of 1202 Ft the dam has recency been raised to attain the new maximum conservation level of 1242 Ft. Jari Oam is a part of th»s protect situated east of Mirpur city. A tunnel passes across the dam The intake Gate Control controls opening and dosing of the tunnel by raising or the lowering intake Gate The tunnel terminates at Howell Bunger Valve ts earned out by a mechanism inside the Wve Control Block The tunnel upstream HoweB Bunger Vafce has been punctured three times to incorporate three different tapings for different purposes The tunnel was not ongihaUy designed to accommodate these taping
3. The basic objective of the Feasibly Study is to determ*w the vufetty of options without compromising the safety and integrity of concerned structore and operative equpment without jeopardizing the components ot the downstream portal of the tumel and assuring safety to We and property downstream Sting Basm of Jail Outlet Works
4. Duration of Consultancy Services is about three (3) months from the date ot commencement
5. Interested Local & Foreign Consulting Firms / JVs registered wtm Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) are invited to submit Expression of interest (ECM) seated envelopes for undertaking the above Study / Assignment
6. The intention of this invitation is to shortlist surtaWe Consultants / JVs from wtwh the Proposals wW be invited The JVs should not comprise of more than four firms
7. Consultants shall ensure that all the submitted information is correct
